A Spanish professional tennis player who has been ranked World No. 1 since August 18, 2008. He has won six Grand Slam singles titles and the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles. He has captured the last four French Open singles titles, joining Björn Borg in 2008 as the only men to have won four consecutive singles titles there. In 2008, Nadal became the second Spanish man to win Wimbledon. Nadal is only the third male player in the open era to have won the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year. In 2009, Nadal became the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open, the fourth male tennis player—behind Jimmy Connors, Mats Wilander, and Andre Agassi—to win Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces, and the first male tennis player to hold simultaneously Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces (2008 French Open, 2008 Wimbledon Championships, and 2009 Australian Open).

Today - 17th of February

We had our Literature Arts test today. It was not as hard as I expected but I think I did not do very well. We were required to write a formal letter in reference to The Taximan's Story, Little Ironies which is a book that consists of several short stories written by Catherine Lim. I was just in time to finish it and therefore, I was unable to check my composition. I am sure there may be several grammatical or spelling errors.

After that, we sat for our InfoComm Studies test. I were startled by the tough questions. As a result, the test was a disaster for me. There were many questions which I did not even know how to do, as we have not learn them yet. This requires us to have a broad knowledge about computer.

A fire drill was carried out during the study session tonight. Most of us just ambled out of the dining hall while chatting as we had known about it beforehand. We were also surprised that we have achieved the goal of the boarding school that everyone had evacuated the building in 7 minutes. It seems that the goal set was too low; we should have accomplish the elementary feat under 5 minutes.

Tomorrow will be our Geography test. According to my friends in the class next door, the test was extremely difficult. Thus, I have to revise hard. This shall be the last test for this week, and we will be having Science, Chinese, Higher Chinese, etc. next week if there are no changes.

That's all for today. See ya!

My favourite football player

... is none other than Steven Gerrard!

Cut my veins open and I bleed Liverpool red. I love Liverpool with a burning passion. That was what Gerrard, the captain of Liverpool said in his biography.

Liverpool's inspirational captain is arguably the most complete footballer in the world. Power, pace, touch and a never-say-die attitude; he has it all, and rarely have these attributes been more apparent than when he skippered the Reds to 2005 Champions League glory in Istanbul.

Gerrard's profile :

Full name : Steven George Gerrard

Date of birth : 30 May 1980 (age 28/2009 - it is not May yet)
Place of birth : Whiston, England
Nationality : England
Height : 6 feet 0 inches or 1.83m
Weight : 83 kg

Club information :

Current club : Liverpool FC
Position : Midfielder (usually playing as right winger, but is able to play in almost all midfield positions)
Squad Number : 8

Career :

(Youth) 1987-1997 : Liverpool

(Senior) 1997-now : Liverpool
Steven Gerrard looks like he will stay at Liverpool till he retired!

Early career :

Gerrard started out playing for hometown team Whiston Juniors, where he was noticed by Liverpool scouts. He joined the Reds' youth academy at the age of nine. Gerrard then had trials with various clubs at fourteen, including Manchester United, which he claimed in his 2006 autobiography was "to pressure Liverpool into giving me a YTS (youth training scheme) contract." He signed his first professional contract with Liverpool on 5 November 1997.

Gerrard and Liverpool :

Gerrard made his Liverpool first-team debut on 29 November 1998 in a match against Blackburn Rovers as a last minute substitute for Vegard Heggem. He made 13 appearances in his debut season, filling in the midfield position for injured captain Jamie Redknapp and playing on the right wing, but he scarcely contributed in the little on-pitch time he received, due to nervousness affecting his play. Gerrard recalled in a interview, "I was out of position and out of my depth." The Liverpool hierarchy nonetheless remained convinced that he would improve. Gerrard saw himself as a defensive player primarily, looking to make key tackles rather than push the team forward. More
