Liverpool stumbles in FA Cup. Oh no...

Liverpool losed 0-1 to rivals Everton in a Merseyside derby. Dan Gosling scored with 2 minutes left in extra time, putting Everton into the 5th round of the FA Cup. Everton will host Aston Villa who advanced into the 5th round after a 3-1 victory over Doncaster.

With a penalty-kick shootout looming to separate the cross-city rivals in their replay, the 19-year-old Gosling put in a deflected chip from Andy van der Meyde’s cross.

Liverpool was reduced to 10 men with 14 minutes remaining in regulation when Lucas Leiva was shown a second yellow card for tripping Joleon Lescott. Aargh~

“We are really disappointed, to play for a long time with 10 men and to concede like that from a deflection at the end, you have to be disappointed,” Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez said. “The turning point of the game was the second yellow card for Lucas, I was not happy, but I do not want to say anything about the referee.”

There were graver news for the unfortunate Liverpool. Liverpool’s chances were damaged after 15 minutes when captain Steven Gerrard limped off with a suspected hamstring injury. The England midfielder will have a scan Thursday to see the extent of the injury.

I felt that it is hard for Liverpool after Gerrard's injury and Lucas' red card (though he deserved it) to win. Well, Lucas seems to be doing more harm than good recently. Benitez should consider putting him on the bench for the next match, seriously.

But never mind, you'll never walk alone, Reds!
